Did you know that bladder stones can cause pain and damage in dogs, even dogs who display no obvious symptoms? The Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech is seeking healthy male miniature schnauzers and those with a history of bladder stones for a study, funded by the Morris Animal Foundation, which aims to improve the detection of bladder stones and achieve better outcomes for dogs that develop them. Contact or 540-231-1363 to see if your schnauzer can take part in the study or visit to learn more. All study related procedures take place at the college’s Veterinary Teaching Hospital in Blacksburg, VA.

Note: Admissions for this study are closing at the end of February. The study includes a free physical exam, abdominal ultrasound, urinalysis, serum biochemistry, and optional overnight hospitalization.
