Capital Dog Training Club of Washington, D.C., Inc. (CDTC), will host an official AKC

obedience judging seminar on Saturday, July 24, 2010, and an official rally judging seminar on

Sunday, July 25, 2010. These seminars will count towards AKC’s judges’ education

requirements for all approved, provisional, and prospective judges for obedience and/or rally.

Location: CDTC clubhouse, 2758 Garfield Avenue, Silver Spring, Maryland, in Montgomery

County, adjacent to and northwest of Washington, D.C. (The nearest airport is Reagan National.

Other regional airports are Baltimore-Washington and Dulles.)

ALL are welcome to attend: Anyone who is showing or plans to show in AKC obedience and

rally, as well as obedience or rally judges! The seminars will be conducted by an AKC

obedience and rally field representative, in conjunction with a PowerPoint presentation.

Obedience seminar schedule for Saturday, July 24, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

- Review Chapters 1 and 1 of the Obedience Regulations

- Ring setup and procedure

- Explanation and demonstration of heel position and handler errors; recall; scoring Novice,

Open, and Utility; scoring handler errors; and judge’s position

- Review any new changes and policies

- Miscellaneous topics of interest

- Questions and answers

Rally seminar schedule for Sunday, July 25, 8:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Fees: Nonmembers of CDTC: One day, $40; two days, $80. Members of CDTC: one day,

$30; two days, $60. Included: Continental breakfast/coffee break BOTH days; lunch Saturday

only; afternoon coffee break Saturday only.
